Sailor Piece Races Guide: All Races, Abilities & Upgrades
Complete Sailor Piece races guide covering all 21 races, their fixed abilities, and which race is best for your playstyle.
Race System Overview
Sailor Piece features 21 unique races organized into tiers from S+ to C. Races provide passive stat bonuses including HP, damage, sword/melee multipliers, lifesteal, and damage reduction. Your starting race is Human (default) — you can reroll with Gems for a random new race. The 21 races are: SwordBlessed, Galevorn, Sunborn, Servant, Slime (S+ Mythic), Leviathan, Kitsune, Oni (S Mythic), Hollow, Shadowborn, Shinigami, Player, Vessel (A tier), Fishman, Mink, Skypea, Vampire, Limitless (B tier), Human, Orc, Demon (C tier).
S+ Tier: Top Mythic Races
SwordBlessed: +20% Sword DMG Multi, +80% Max HP, +75% DMG, 3% Lifesteal, 10% DMG Reduction. The single best race for sword builds. Galevorn: +20% Melee DMG Multi, +80% Max HP, +75% DMG, 3% Lifesteal, 10% DMG Reduction. Best race for melee builds. Sunborn: +80% Max HP, +70% DMG, +20% Sword DMG Multi, +3% Lifesteal, 10% DMG Reduction. Rivals SwordBlessed with added lifesteal. Servant: +67% DMG, +75% HP, +17% Melee DMG Multi, 4% Lifesteal (highest among Mythics), 10% DMG Reduction. Slime: +70% Max HP, +65% DMG, +17% Sword DMG Multi, +3% Lifesteal, +10% DMG Reduction. All five are Mythic rarity (0.05% spin rate) and drastically outperform lower tiers.
S Tier: Mythic Races
Leviathan: +17% Sword DMG Multi, +60% DMG, +65% Max HP, and 5% Lifesteal — the highest lifesteal in the game. Great for players who prefer survivability over raw damage. Kitsune: +10% Melee DMG Multi, +10% Sword DMG Multi, +50% DMG, +60% Max HP, and +25% Luck Multi. The go-to race for drop-farming runs — the luck bonus makes rare drops significantly more common. Oni: +20% Melee DMG Multi, +65% Max HP, +55% DMG, +10% DMG Reduction. The best pure melee Mythic with a unique fear aura that makes nearby enemies take increased damage. All three are Mythic rarity — slightly below S+ but still extremely powerful.
A Tier: Weapon Bonus Races
A-tier races have dedicated weapon bonus passives. Hollow: Weapon mastery passive (+weapon DMG for equipped weapon), +25% Max HP, +35% DMG. Shadowborn: Shadow weapon synergy, +30% Max HP, +40% DMG, +20% Sword DMG Multi, shadow step dash boost. Shinigami: Death scythe mastery, +30% Max HP, +40% DMG, small lifesteal on kill, +15% Sword DMG Multi. Player: Adaptive bonus (+5% DMG per 10% missing HP), +25% Max HP, +35% DMG. Vessel: Conduit passive (+weapon DMG), +40% Max HP, +30% DMG, +10% DMG Reduction. These races are strong mid-to-late game options before obtaining a Mythic.
B & C Tier Races
B Tier: Fishman (+15% EXP Gain, +15% Money Gain — best grinding race for leveling), Mink (+15% Movement Speed, Electro Touch debuff — best mobility race), Skypea (sky-themed bonuses, skyward dash), Vampire (+30% HP, +25% DMG, +5% lifesteal — good sustain option), Limitless (+25% Gojo Sword DMG, +30% DMG, +40% Max HP — weapon-locked to Gojo builds). C Tier: Human (default starting race, no combat bonuses), Orc (+15% Max HP, minor melee bonus), Demon (+35% HP, +30% DMG, faster sprint — strong for an Epic-rarity race). Reroll away from C-tier races as soon as you can afford Gems.
Race Abilities Overview
Each race has fixed passive abilities that activate automatically. There are no upgrade tiers to grind—your race abilities are available from the moment you obtain the race. Abilities range from stat boosts (SwordBlessed +sword damage, Mink +speed) to unique mechanics (Vampire lifesteal, Angel healing). Race rerolls cost Gems and give you a random new race from all 21 options.
Huge Update Race Meta (May 2026)
The Huge Update (May 10, 2026) added two Mythical swords (Sun God and Dual Wielder) and one Mythical melee spec (Spirit Warrior), shifting the race meta toward races that amplify their F-ability damage. SwordBlessed remains the undisputed S+ sword race — its +20% Sword DMG Multi directly amplifies Sun God's 515B F ability and Dual Wielder's 500B F ability. For players targeting Sun God (Slayer Island World Boss) or Dual Wielder (Minotaur Raid on Blue Planet), SwordBlessed turns every farming run more efficient without any adjustment to gear. Galevorn is the clearest winner among melee races post-Huge Update. Spirit Warrior's 760B Kamehameha F ability is pre-unlocked on acquisition, and Galevorn's +20% Melee DMG Multi stacks directly with that raw number. The 3% Lifesteal from Galevorn is also valuable during Spirit Warrior's 6-step unlock questline: World Boss farming (step 3) and Sea Beast hunting (step 5) involve extended fights where passive lifesteal prevents health item consumption. Kitsune race gained indirect value with the Huge Update: Spirit Stones (required for Spirit Warrior step 1) and Spirit Keys (required for step 6) are both rare drops from Spirit Fighter mobs on Blue Planet island. The Kitsune race's +25% Luck Multi meaningfully improves the drop rate of both items, making Kitsune the fastest race for completing the Spirit Warrior unlock questline. The broader takeaway: if you're targeting any Huge Update endgame content (Sun God boss, Minotaur Raid, Spirit Warrior questline), SwordBlessed, Galevorn, and Kitsune are the three races with direct mechanical advantages. No other race received an indirect buff from this update.
Best Race for Each Build Type
Sword builds (primary stat: Sword): SwordBlessed > Sunborn > Servant. SwordBlessed's +20% Sword DMG Multi is the highest sword multiplier in the game. Sunborn rivals SwordBlessed with +20% Sword DMG Multi and adds +3% Lifesteal — choose Sunborn if you want sustain, SwordBlessed if you want the cleanest damage number. Servant is a viable third option with +17% Melee DMG Multi and 4% Lifesteal. Melee builds (primary stat: Melee): Galevorn > Oni > Servant. Galevorn's +20% Melee DMG Multi is the matching counterpart to SwordBlessed for melee specs. Oni provides +20% Melee DMG Multi but has no lifesteal — use Oni for pure DPS output, Galevorn when survivability matters. Servant covers both melee and lifesteal with +17% Melee DMG Multi and 4% Lifesteal. Hybrid builds (Sword + Melee both high): Galevorn or Servant. Both provide a melee multiplier that synergizes with all attack types. Kitsune race works for hybrids that want to combine farming and combat. Farming runs (rare drop priority): Kitsune > Leviathan > Fishman. Kitsune's +25% Luck Multi directly boosts rare item drop rates — use it for any material or spec farming. Leviathan has 5% Lifesteal (best in game) plus a sword multiplier, making it durable for long farming sessions. Fishman is the best non-Mythic farming race: +15% EXP and +15% Money from every kill applies universally regardless of content. PvP-focused (taking and dealing damage): Leviathan > Servant > Galevorn. Leviathan's 5% Lifesteal is the strongest passive heal in PvP, keeping you alive through sustained trades. Servant's 4% Lifesteal and 10% DMG Reduction provide the best tank-damage hybrid. Galevorn adds DMG Reduction alongside lifesteal for melee-focused PvP builds.
Race Reroll Strategy
Race rerolls give you a random new race from the full pool of 21 races. There is no way to target a specific race. The Mythic tier (8 races: SwordBlessed, Galevorn, Sunborn, Servant, Slime, Leviathan, Kitsune, Oni) has a 0.05% individual spin rate — you have roughly a 0.4% chance of landing any Mythic per reroll. Save rerolls until you have a clear build identity. If you are a sword main, you want SwordBlessed or Sunborn — there is no reason to use a reroll while you still have a Mythic race, even a weaker one like Slime. If you are a melee main, Galevorn is your target; Oni is the acceptable runner-up. Priority order for most players: If you get any S+ Mythic, stop rerolling and build around it. The stat differences between SwordBlessed and Sunborn are smaller than the difference between either and an A-tier race. If you get Kitsune (S tier), consider whether your build values farming — Kitsune is best-in-slot for drop farming and the Spirit Warrior questline. If you get Leviathan (S tier), that 5% Lifesteal is genuinely endgame-viable for PvP. Only reroll Leviathan if you specifically need a damage multiplier for PvE bossing. Save Clan Rerolls separately — they are a different system and should not be confused with Race Rerolls. Codes frequently give free Race Reroll items — redeem all codes at /codes/active/ before spending Gems on rerolls.
How Race Passives Work in Combat
Race passives are always-on multipliers applied at the damage calculation layer — they do not require activation. Understanding the math makes a significant difference. DMG multipliers (e.g., SwordBlessed +75% DMG, Galevorn +75% DMG) are additive with other flat damage bonuses but their interaction with clan DMG and trait multipliers is multiplicative. This means a SwordBlessed + Pride Clan + Celestial Trait player does not simply add percentages — each layer multiplies the previous, compounding dramatically. Sword DMG Multi and Melee DMG Multi are weapon-type modifiers: +20% Sword DMG Multi from SwordBlessed applies only to sword ability damage, not fruit or melee abilities. This distinction matters for hybrid builds — you want the multiplier that covers your primary damage source. Lifesteal percentages (Servant 4%, Leviathan 5%, Galevorn 3%) heal you for that percentage of all outgoing damage. At endgame damage levels — where a single ability hits for tens of billions — even a 3% Lifesteal per hit results in billions of HP recovered per second during active combat. DMG Reduction (10% across all S+ Mythic races) is applied after all other damage modifiers. It reduces the final incoming hit by 10%, which at endgame boss damage levels is a substantial flat mitigation. Luck Multi (Kitsune +25%) directly scales with the game's loot table system — it increases the effective drop rate of items with a drop chance below 10%, which covers all rare specs, titles, and crafting materials. It does not affect guaranteed drops or quest rewards.
